Earlier this year NSW Police announced the establishment of a new Firearms Registry Consultation Council “to create a forum for the regular exchange of information and ideas between those involved in firearms regulation and the NSW Police Force on issues relevant to firearms regulation and public safety.”
We are very pleased that Stephen Bendle from the Australian Gun Safety Alliance, and founding member the Alannah & Madeline Foundation, has been selected to sit on the Council. He is joined by Tim Quinn from Gun Control Australia.
You can see the Council members here. Stephen says, “We thank the NSW Police for including gun safety advocates on the Council. We are disappointed that there is not a wider representation from other sectors and groups that have an interest in firearm safety, but we hope that will change over time”
